Apple users across various devices are encountering a persistent “Verification Failed” error when attempting to log in, even with correct passwords. This issue affects older iPhone and iPad models, as well as HomePod setups. The error message typically reads: “Verification Failed: This action could not be completed. Please try again,” and occurs regardless of network conditions or account details.
The problem manifests in different scenarios. Users find themselves unable to sign in to their Apple ID, turn off “Find My” features, or authorize App Store purchases. One user on Apple’s discussion forums reported being unable to log in to their Apple ID account, despite resetting, using different networks, and trying various accounts. Another user mentioned that Apple customer service attempted solutions like a force reboot and firmware update but the issue persisted.
Apple is reportedly aware of the widespread issue and is working on a fix. Some users have found a temporary workaround by logging into account.apple.com and iCloud.com through Safari before attempting to sign in on their device. However, this solution does not work for everyone.
At this time, the best course of action is to report the bug to Apple through any available means. The more reports Apple receives, the higher the priority they may assign to addressing the issue. Users are advised to monitor Apple’s official channels for updates and potential solutions.
